[Solved] Custom fields not remembered

I have created two custom fields for my mailing list, firstname and lastname. All is well when the user subscribes but if I go to edit the subscriber details, although the fields are there they are not filled in i.e. blank. So unless I re enter the subscribers name the information is overwritten when I click on save.
